A Note from Our Founder

As a Des Moines native who attended Spelman College and built my career in finance and operational management in New York before returning home, I've seen how access to networks and coordination systems can accelerate opportunities and how much harder things are without them.

Collective Ties is my effort to build the infrastructure that our community deserves: purpose-built tools that strengthen the vibrant networks that already exist in Black Des Moines - making it easier to discover local businesses, coordinate community events, and organize around shared goals. This creates a foundation from which economic circulation can flourish and new ventures, new community members, and new collective initiatives can more easily take root.
